Employee of the Month: Fakhereh Khatibi Jafari December 23, 2018 by Azadeh Akbari Fakhereh Khatibi Jafari holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Youth Studies, a Masters of Arts in Sociology, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology. While studying at university, Fakhereh worked as a volunteer at UNHCR Malaysia. Soon after graduating she joined OMID in Tehran as a Volunteer Instructor, working closely with the young women that OMID supports. Following this experience and observing her passion and dedication in working with OMID girls, she was offered a permanent role as OMID’s new Program Director in Tehran. Having had a flavor of working and seeing OMID’s work and mission, being very much in line with her own beliefs in helping fellow humans grow, she accepted the offer and joined the OMID team. Since then, Fakhereh has been working with OMID for the past four years in her role as Program Director. In April 2018 she was promoted to Chief Operating Officer while maintaining her position as the Program Director. Fakhereh believes that the world can and should be a better place for all and that other people’s sufferings can be minimized even with little steps. She believes that there should be equal opportunity for everyone to grow and flourish. Speaking of her experience of working at OMID, Fakhereh says: In my opinion, OMID is a small window to a better future for the young women of this country and it is my honor to be a small member of this wonderful family.
