Empowering Women, Transforming Lives: The OMID Approach

OMID is committed to empowering marginalized young women and girls through impactful initiatives and sustainable strategies. Collaborating with experts, organizations, non-profits, and volunteers, we’ve implemented effective online training programs impacting thousands of young women.

Over the years, our initiatives have benefited more than 25,000 women and their families. We’ve effectively equipped these individuals with resilience tools for success through self-awareness and trauma management programs, art therapy workshops, and real-life skills training

Our efforts have enabled more than 2,000 girls to complete middle and high school education, 350 youth graduate from university, while helping more than 850 women enter the labor market, improving their previous circumstances while supporting their families.

Further, our impact is seen in the lasting empowerment and transformation of those we’ve supported. Many have become mentors, teachers, and professionals, contributing to women’s empowerment among our target population.

Through hands-on experiences, we aim to nurture lifelong well-being and empower young females to create brighter futures for themselves and their communities.

OMID was founded by Marjaneh Halati, a social psychologist and psychotherapist. The OMID concept is her brainchild, and her vision has created its distinctive approach to helping vulnerable and disadvantaged young women achieve self-awareness, self-determination, and self-sufficiency in modern society. Born in Iran, Marjaneh left Iran when she was 12 years old. After finishing her undergraduate education in the USA, she completed her MS Degree at the London School of Economics in Social Psychology where her work focused on domestic violence and female empowerment. She did her PhD work at the University of Cambridge, where her work focused on the institution of marriage in Iran.
