Make and Sell Get Making For OMID – Through bake sales, making jewelry or other creative means. Here are two great examples of recent smart and enterprising ways some volunteers have raised funds for the for the young women supported by OMID: This is 12 year old Noor Skhiri, she lives in Menlo Park, California. Like most pre-teen girls Noor got into making bracelets from loom bands, but she recently took her passion for jewelry making to another level and sold enough of her rainbow bracelets to make a generous donation of $320 to OMID. She also got to talk about her achievements at our recent Bay Area event. “I started making rainbow looms when I was in third grade. I love making them whenever I have free time. The reason I started making rainbow looms is because I loved the concept of making bracelets with rubber bands.” Get Selling For OMID As well as making and selling your own products to raise funds, why not collect and sell items that are no longer wanted and donate the proceeds to OMID? Recently in the UK, Koushna Navabi (above right) and her dream-team of Jane Barclay, Brenda Champion, Kaethe Cherney, Arabella Drummond, Ceciley Engle, Charlotte Friedman, Maryam Khazandi, Chiara Menage, Nikko Moazami, and Helene Walton, organized a spectacular Vintage and Pre-owned Designer sale in London. They had received close to 500 items which included every famous brand you have ever heard of including Armani, Chanel, Comme des Garcons, Etro, Gauthier, Hermes, Issey Miyake, Leger, Manolo Blahnik, Prada, Valentino, Yamamoto, and many others. They raised close to £6,000 on the day of the sale and will be selling the remaining items online. Our thanks go to them for their tireless effort and for all the donors who donated the items.
