Run, Ride, Climb Run, Ride, Row, Swim, Dive, Climb…get Active For OMID Feeling active and wanting to set yourself a personal best, whilst fundraising? Why not raise sponsorship funds through your friends, family and colleagues both on and off line, for your next big physical challenge, by riding, running, swimming, rowing, diving or climbing for OMID. Sara Safari scaled Vison Massif in Antarctica, having been inspired by our work to empower marginalized young women. She followed this up with a talk at an event in San Diego to raise awareness and funds for OMID. Mehrdad Erfani cycled some distance to help OMID, 340 miles to be precise. In doing so he raised over $6500 for OMID. Mehrdad Erfani pedaled from Pittsburgh to Washington, DC to raise funds and awareness for a cause that is near and dear to him. He rode again, six months later, this time 100K. When choosing an organization or volunteer activity to support, I look for causes that have touched me personally, that aim to strengthen communities by fostering tolerance and understanding, and that bring attention to causes and illnesses that most of us don’t struggle with on a daily basis.” Mehrdad Erfani, Ride For Hope Zahra Ashrafi recently took on an amazing challenge, while supporting OMID. She ran 100K back to back in ultra-marathons in Antarctica and Chile. She helped raise $6,100 which will make a big difference to many OMID girls’ lives. In the UK, a team of six professionals (above left to right: Rana Varshocrhi-Pirouz, Golriz Kolahi, Sam Behnia, Kaveh Goudarzi, Bahadur Ahramian and Xanyar Kamangar) ran to raise funds for OMID’in the North London Half Marathon starting and finishing inside the historic Wembley Stadium.They raised over £5060.
