No prior fundraising experience is required. We provide guidance, templates, and resources to help you succeed. Whether you’re new to fundraising or have experience, your passion and creativity are what matter most. Many of our volunteers start with no background and go on to lead successful fundraising campaigns for Afghan and Iranian women.
Yes! Our fundraising volunteer opportunities are global and flexible. You can join us from anywhere in the world by hosting online crowdfunding campaigns, awareness events, or advocacy projects in your own community. Many volunteers in Canada, Europe, and the Middle East support OMID remotely.
We understand that everyone’s schedule is different. Fundraising volunteering with OMID is flexible and customizable. Some volunteers dedicate a few hours a month to online awareness campaigns, while others lead larger events that require more planning. Even a small commitment of time can create a big impact for the women we serve.
Volunteers have the freedom to design creative fundraising ideas that fit their skills and community:
- Charity runs, walks, or bike rides
- Online crowdfunding campaigns
- Social media challenges
- Community events (school drives, local fairs, workplace giving)
- Storytelling & awareness campaigns
Every effort helps fund education, mental health support, and vocational training for marginalized young women.
Every dollar raised by volunteers directly supports OMID’s programs for Afghan and Iranian women and girls. Your efforts fund:
- Trauma recovery workshops
- Educational scholarships
- Life skills and vocational training
- Mental health counseling
By volunteering, you’re not just raising money; you’re raising hope, healing, and opportunities for a brighter future.
Absolutely. Many of our fundraising volunteers are students, young professionals, and first-time advocates. Volunteering with OMID is also a great way to gain experience in fundraising, nonprofit advocacy, and communications while making a meaningful global impact.
